Arnica can also be used to treat insect bites and burns.

Cayenne

Cayenne has powerful pain relief properties. The capsaicin in cayenne reduces the amount of substance P, a neuropeptide, acting as a neurotransmitter and as a neuromodulator to regulate pain. Capsaicin also kills bacteria and boosts the immune system. Cayenne can also increase metabolism and aid digestive health.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a health Swiss Army Knife. It works as an anti-inflammatory compound, increases the body’s amount of antioxidants, improves brain function, combats oxidative damage, and enhances mood.

Ginger

Ginger is seemingly magical. It deals in duality. It’s sweet and spicy. It connects the mind and body, literally. By improving cardiovascular functioning ginger increases blood flow which moves more oxygen around giving you more energy and alertness. Taken orally, ginger can prevent midday crashes by stabilizing blood sugar. Ginger has also been shown to increase serotonin and dopamine production.

Yarrow

Yarrow improves circulation in the body allowing your lungs, heart, and muscles to function optimally. Yarrow can also fight inflammation and help heal wounds.

Paprika

Rich in Vitamin E, paprika nourishes the skin and helps to heal wounds. Paprika is also a great anti-inflammatory.

Emu Oil

Emu oil is a skin-loving powerhouse. It is an occlusive moisturizer, meaning it locks in moisture by preventing water-loss. Emu oil is also gentle on skin for people with eczema. Additionally, emu oil positively stimulates collagen production. This has huge implications ranging from anti-aging uses to helping heal wounds.

Beeswax

Beeswax is beautiful. It’s nourishing and strong. Bees use it to build their honeycombs, we use it to heal. Beeswax is a strong anti-inflammatory that not only soothes swollen and irritated skin but also reduces pain sensations.

Clove Oil

The sweetly cool and complex clove promotes deep revitalization. As a topical, the simultaneously warming and cooling clove is a powerful antibacterial and pain reliever. This makes it a favorite among natural remedies. Cloves can also be used for soothing irritations like itching and burning sensations.

Menthol

Menthol is what’s known as a counterirritant. It works by making the skin feel cool and then warm. This back and forth dampens feelings of pain in the muscles and joints. Menthol’s cooling and soothing sensations come from triggering cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors in the skin. This is similar to how capsaicin triggers heat-sensitive receptors. More deeply, menthol relaxes muscles by blocking voltage-sensitive sodium channels, reducing neural activity that transmits pain sensations.
